Budget Results: All Propositions Pass

All three propositions for the Hoosick Falls Central School have passed. The three vacant Board of Education seats will be filled by Richard Ferrannini, Donald Skott, and Dwain Wilwol.

The official voting results are as follows:

PROPOSITION #1 - GENERAL FUND:
SHALL the Hoosick Falls Central School District be authorized to appropriate $20,721,115 for the 2010-2011 school year, and for the purposes shown in the statement of estimated expenditures adopted by the Board of Education on April 15, 2010 be approved and the amount thereof be raised by a levy of a tax upon the taxable property of the school district, after first deducting the monies available from state aid and other sources as provided by law? This includes funds to pick up children in the approved Child Safety Zone.

No Votes: 224

PROPOSITION #2 - BUS PURCHASES:
RESOLVED, that the Hoosick Falls Central School District is hereby authorized to purchase school buses at a maximum estimated cost of $189,500, and that such amount, or so much thereof as many be necessary shall be raised by the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said District and collected in annual installments as provided by Section 416 of the Education Law; and, in anticipation of such tax, obligations of said District shall be issued.

PROPOSITION #3 - CAPITAL RESERVE FUND:
SHALL the proposition set forth in the notice of this meeting authorizing the establishment of a capital reserve fund to be designated “Bus Purchase Reserve Fund”, with an ultimate amount to be $500,000 (plus accrued interest), a term of 10 years, and annual appropriation of available fund balance and other legally available funds to such Reserve Fund, be approved?
