Hoosick Falls Baseball reaches Class C final

AMSTERDAM – Alex Lilac went 4 for 5 with three doubles and five RBIs to lead Hoosick Falls to an easy 17-1 win over Rensselaer in a Class C semifinal of the Section II Baseball Tournament on Saturday at Shuttleworth Park.

 

Sixth-seeded Hoosick Falls will play eighth-seeded Voorheesville for the championship at 4 p.m. Thursday at Joe Bruno Stadium.

 

Billy Pine pitched five innings and allowed just one hit in earning the win. Tanner Williams pitched two innings of no-hit ball to close it out.

The Panthers are going for their first sectional title since 2002.

FORT PLAIN – In a pitchers’ duel, the only run of the game was unearned to give Hoosick Falls the win.

Cody LaFlamme ripped a hard ground ball to shortstop with two outs. LaFlamme reached first after the shortstop misplayed the ball and Bubba Willette scored from third.

LaFlamme earned his fifth win of the year, allowing just one hit. He struck out 10.

No. 6 Hoosick Falls plays #2 Rensselaer in the semifinals Saturday at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam at 4 p.m.

Sports Physicals for ’12-13 offered in June

Sports Physicals for the entire 2012-13 School Year will be offered on:

 Monday, June 4th (from 6-8PM)

and

Wednseday, June 6th (2:15-4:15 and 6-8PM)

 

These physicals will be good for ALL sports for grades 7-12 (Football, Soccer, Field Hockey, Cheerleading, Golf, Bowling, Wrestling, basketball, Baseball, and Softball).

The physicals will be given by our school physician – Dr. Martinez – in the high school nurse’s office. Pick up a “Health Assessment” from the nurse or a coach. This physical form MUST BE FILLED OUT and SIGNED by a parent/guardian, and brought to the physical. No students will receive a physical without this form.

Blood Drive – Thursday, May 31st

There will be a Blood Drive on Thursday, May 31st, from 8:30am to 1PM. The Blood Drive is being put on by the Student Council.

JV Baseball & Softball Games Postponed

Todays JV Baseball & Softball Games scheduled for today, Thursday, May 3 vs Greenwich have been postponed. No make-up date has been scheduled – TBA.
