Congratulations to the HFCS Class of 2017

On June 23rd, 2017, the Hoosick Falls Central School had their 144th annual commencement exercise. Due to the potential for inclement weather, the ceremony was held inside the High School Auditorium.

Class of 2017 Hat Toss

Summary of the Ceremony:

The 144th commencement exercise was hosted by Ms. Vadney, Jr. / Sr. High School Principal. The HFCS Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mr. Allen, provided music for the ceremony. Class of 2017 Vice President Daniel Suite lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Class of 2017 Historian Emma Kelly gave the prefatory. Seniors were able to perform with the band one last time, and they did a cover of Uptown Funk. Katy Gardner, Salutatorian, gave her speech, followed by a vocal selection by Jamie Danner and Renee St. Hilaire. The Valedictory was delivered by Emma Ganger-Spivak. David Sutton sang God Bless America to recognize the seniors who are heading into military service. After the class members presented roses, Megan Henry and Elizabeth Ryan paid tribute to a class member who had passed away, Michael Hackett. The guest speaker was Dr. Todd Wysocki (HFCS Class of 1983). Diplomas were awarded by Mr. Laurin, the president of the Board of Education. He was assisted by class advisors Melissa Gardner and Denise Bardin. The closing remarks were delivered by Class of 2017 President Bryan Thomas.
