Home / High School / HFCS Music Students Stand Out at Competitions

Chorus members gather at Hershey's Music in the Parks Festival at the end of April.

This past week, on  April 25, the HFCS Symphonic Band received a gold rating at the New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) Major Organization Festival. The festival is an opportunity for music teachers to bring an ensemble to perform a music selection chosen from the NYSSMA Manual for two specially trained judges. The ensemble is given taped and written comments on their performance, and awarded a rating such as Gold, Silver, or Bronze.

Also this past week, on April 27, the Senior Chorus placed first in the Treble Choir category at Hershey’s Music in the Parks Festival. A Music in the Parks festival is an opportunity for students to compete and receive feedback from experienced music teachers.
Congratulations!
