At the Thursday, Oct. 18, Board of Education Meeting, Hoosick Falls
Central School District (HFCSD) Superintendent Ken Facin publicly announced his
plans to retire from the position at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. After accepting
Mr. Facin’s resignation with regret, the Board then appointed High School Principal
Patrick Dailey as the new superintendent for the HFCSD beginning July 1, 2019.
“It has been a privilege to serve the Hoosick Falls Central School District as
Superintendent for the past 12 years,” said Facin. “I am very pleased with the board’s
action in naming Patrick Dailey as the incoming Superintendent. Pat is a former teacher
and experienced administrator with the skills and knowledge to lead the district and to
do it very well.”
Below is a copy of Mr. Facin’s formal letter of retirement addressed to the Board of Education:
Dear Board of Education,
It has been a privilege and honor to lead the Hoosick Falls Central School District for the past 12 years. The wonderful school board members, school leaders, faculty and staff that I have had the pleasure of working with have made my tenure at Hoosick amazing. It is with much gratitude and appreciation over these years of service that I submit my formal letter of retirement effective June 30, 2019. The relationships and experiences that I have had over the years make Hoosick Falls a special place.
The school district has seen much change over the years and this can be attributed to a forward-thinking Board of Education and school leadership team that truly cares about each child in the community. Remarkable school leaders and innovative teachers who go the extra mile for children make Hoosick Falls schools special and unique. Our support staff, whether being personable and helpful in offices, working alongside teachers in classrooms, transporting students, making the campus shine or cooking meals for students, are to be commended for their dedicated service. Teachers have been and will always be the driving force behind great schools and we have the best. Thank you faculty for your tireless work throughout the past 12 years.
Our most precious and important resource is our students who have been and continue to be remarkable. Over the past 12 years, I have met and interacted with so many students who care deeply about learning, love their community and have a sense of pride for all things Hoosick. These students have transitioned on to great lives with many living in the school district with hopes of having their children graduating as a Panther.
Thank you and I wish everyone the best as we move ahead as a school family, working with our students on their social and emotional growth and learning development this school year.
With deep respect and appreciation,
Kenneth A. Facin
Superintendent of Schools
