The community attended a meeting in our high school auditorium that was presented by Healthy Hoosick Water, Inc. regarding the PFOA contamination issue in the Village of Hoosick Falls municipal water supply. The EPA brought a panel of experts to present information and answer questions from the community. Representatives of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York State Department Of Health were also on hand. There was a great deal of information shared by the EPA. Links to some of that information and a video of the meeting are shared below:
HFCSD Campus Water Test Is Negative
The safety and well-being of the children in our community is a top priority for the Hoosick Falls Central School District, and we have tested our water thoroughly to ensure it is safe for consumption.
The Hoosick Falls Central School District water supply is from two wells, located on the school campus. This water supply is independent of any municipal water system.
Our testing has indicated that our water has no perfluorooctanoic acid. Our water is tested monthly, and we will continue to monitor for outside contaminates.
