Amy Sutton has been teaching for 25 years. She began her teaching career at St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls teaching three and four year olds. By the end of her sixth year she had also taught kindergarten and first grade. She is currently teaching at Hoosick Falls Central School as the 6th grade science teacher.
Mrs. Sutton’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s of Science in special education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities.
She has been involved in many activities over the years from PTA Treasurer to Head Ghoul of the Haunted Hall which originated as an SMA activity. She has taught religion classes at Immaculate Conception Church, coached 5th and 6th grade girls’ basketball, 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls’ softball and modified field hockey.
Amy enjoys reading scary virus oriented science books, the Pendergast series by Lincoln and Child, decorating for the holidays especially Halloween and Christmas. She will listen to Christmas music during the months of November and December. She grows many of her own vegetables and tries to eat and cook healthy. She prefers cartoons and sit-coms to any reality show.
Her favorite vacation place is the Amazon Rain forest where she has traveled twice and camped for ten days each.
She lives in Hoosick Falls with her singing husband David, our sweet dog Lucy and Sam the cat.
