Mrs. Hayden earned her BS in Biology from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and her MS in Science Education from SUNY Albany. She has 23 years of teaching experience and taught at the HoosacSchool, Ravena-Coeymans- Selkirk High School, and Mount Anthony Union Middle School, but has spent the past 17 years at Hoosick Falls, her high school alma mater.
Mrs. Hayden was selected by Questar III as a Science Fellow and participated in the Summer Research Program for Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics Teachers. She spent the summer investigating DNA mutations at the Center for Medical Science in Albany, New York and will continue to work on her project throughout the school year, completing it in the summer of 2017.
Mrs. Hayden teaches Regents Biology and Advanced Placement Biology. She is a member of the National Science Teacher Association, National Association of Biology Teachers, and the Science Teachers Association of New York State. Mrs. Hayden will be traveling to the Florida Keys with approximately 30 Hoosick Falls students in the spring of 2017.
In her free time, Mrs. Hayden enjoys singing, gardening, cooking, and reading. She has been playing the trumpet since she was nine years old and continues to play with the Hoosick Falls Community Band. She resides in East Hoosick with her husband.
