Ms. Dwyer grew up in nearby Cambridge, NY. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education from SUNY Plattsburgh. While at Plattsburgh, she was a member of the Women’s Basketball team for two years and also worked in the financial aid office. Ms. Dwyer decided to continue her education further at SUNY Plattsburgh and earned her Master’s degree in Special Education. After graduation, Ms. Dwyer began working at Hoosick Falls Central School. During her first year, she worked in both the sixth and eighth grades. Since then, she has spent most of her time working in the sixth grade. Ms. Dwyer has her coaching certificate and was an eighth grade and Junior Varsity girls’ basketball coach for many years.
For the last eighteen years, Ms. Dwyer has spent her summers working at Camp Wilton, an overnight camp for adults with disabilities. She was the Assistant Director of Activities for nine years. The last four years she has been the camp’s office manager.
In her spare time, Ms. Dwyer enjoys working out at the YMCA, being outdoors- whether it is doing things in her backyard, hiking, or spending time on the local rivers and lakes, and spending time with family and friends.
