student participating in anti-bulling / tolerance event

Our character education theme for the month of September is: Tolerance /Anti-bullying. To help encourage a positive school setting, our school is participating in the national program called Start with Hello! again this year from 9/23-9/27.  The basic premise of this program is that we can decrease social isolation and loneliness in our school while increasing inclusivity and connection by simply “starting with hello”.

It’s a very simple initiative really.  The three steps are to notice someone alone, decide to reach out to help them, and start with hello!  Pictured are Friends with Character students creating posters to display around our elementary school hallways promoting our theme and greeting students as they enter the building.  Please let Jess Etien, Jenny O’Connor or Lisa Bundrick know if you have any questions.  Thank you in advance for supporting this awesome cause! Friends with Character
