Back by popular demand, Trunk-or-Treat provides a safe environment for families to enjoy Halloween fun. Costumed children and their families spend the evening going from trunk to trunk, collecting candy and other treats from volunteers who have festively decorated their vehicles and are parked in a secured area at the Wood Memorial Park, Hoosick Falls, New York. There is no charge for this event, but children must be accompanied by an adult (no drop-offs will be permitted) and participating vehicles must be registered prior to October 25.
To register a decorated vehicle and make a commitment to hand out safe candy and treats to the trunk-or-treaters, fill out a registration form at HAYC3.org/trunk-or-treat by no later than October 25. Due to space, this event is limited to 50 vehicles. Creative decorations and plenty of treats are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded.
Due to the family-friendly nature of this event, several safety precautions will be in effect: Volunteer vehicles must arrive no later than 5:00PM and must remain parked and with their vehicle until the conclusion of the event around 8:00PM. There will be no car traffic during the event for the safety of the children. A reception area, located at the corner of Wilder Avenue and Eberly Way, will be the entrance for the event—cars will NOT be permitted if they have not registered by the October 25 deadline; trunk-or-treaters and their adult supervisor do not need to register ahead of time. No alcohol or other illegal substances are permitted.
