Here are some that are available to HFCS students now:

Coach Baker Fund

The Coach Baker Fund is a scholarship that goes to a high school senior who displays exemplary character and citizenship. The recipient must also be going on to higher education whether that be a trader school or a two/four year academic institution. The fund was created to ensure the legacy of Coach Baker and the values for which he stood. The winner of the scholarship will receive $2,000 annually throughout their education. The Bennington County Choral Society Scholarship Audition

The Bennington County Choral Society is preparing for the 2017 scholarship auditions which will be held on May 13th. Two scholarships of $500 will be awarded to talented young musicians. To be eligible, you must be a sophomore, junior or senior in a high school that resides in Bennington County or neighboring towns (Hoosick Falls, Petersburgh, White Creek). They must perform two instrumental or vocal compositions, each not more than five minutes in length. Compositions written by students would not be appropriate. All audition applications are due to Ms. Dobert by April 5th.


2017 CEN Award

The Chief Executives Network for Manufacturing of the Capital Region is an association of manufacturers located in the capital region. CEN will be offering a $1,000 scholarship to an applicant who is a high school senior who is planning on attending a two or four year college or trade school. Applicants should be planning on majoring in a major that could lead them to qualifying for a position with a manufacturer. All scholarships are due to Ms. Dobert by March 28th.


The Ronald J. Dukes MLK Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded to applicants based on their desire to implement the goals of Dr. King, financial need, academic record, evidence of service to their school, community or religious organization, personal goals, and a high school senior. Applications are due to Ms. Dobert by April 25th.


AHEC Scholarship

The Hudson Mohawk Area Health Education Center (AHEC) will be awarding 10 scholarships for $500 to high school seniors entering an approved healthcare related continuing education program including certification or college. Applications are due to Ms. Dobert by April 27th.


Christian Action Award

The Hoosick Area Church Association annually accepts applications for an award from a deserving senior graduating from HFCS, who has exhibited significant Christian attributes. The applicant is expected to be of good Christian character, active in the participation of life at their church, and exhibits a willing attitude in his or her church, home, school and community. Applications are due to Ms. Dobert by May 30th with all of the necessary completed recommendations and forms.


NYSUT Retiree Council 10

This scholarship award will be given to one qualified student who will be attending a two or four year college pursuing a degree in education. The award amount is $500 and will be issued at the end of the first semester their freshmen year. Applications are due to Ms. Dobert by March 27th.

 

 

 


The Lee Shaw Scholarship

The Swingtime Jazz Society will award $500 to a senior who has participated in music activities, either band and/or choir, shown scholarship and leadership qualities and plans on pursuing jazz studies in college. Applications are due no later than April 26th to Ms. Dobert.


The Margaret King Moore Mayflower Prize

The Society of the Mayflower Descendants in the State of New York awards $1,620 to one high school student (junior or senior) based on their 500 word essay titled, ‘The Mayflower Pilgrims Contribution to Early American History’. Three essays from Hoosick Falls will be submitted based on the head of the history department. Applications are due no later than April 23th to Ms. Dobert.


The Nursing Schools Almanac Scholarship

The Nursing Schools Almanac website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates a good track record of academic excellence, particularly in math and science and a passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight on June 30, 2017. Here they’ll find detailed scholarship information and the official application form.


The Amy Bindelglass Memorial Scholarship

Applicants of this scholarship are required to complete the scholarship challenge that is noted on the information sheet. High school seniors are asked to write a well thought out, creative submission on the chosen topic. The winner of the scholarship will receive $500 and the runner up will receive $200. The Scholarship Challenge can be emailed as noted in the directions, or need to be handed in to Ms. Dobert no later than March 30th.

 



First New York Federal Credit Union Scholarship ProgramApplicants must be a First New York Federal Credit Union member that is in good standing. Applicants must plan to attend a two or four year college, and be active in their community. If chosen, four $1,000 scholarships will be given to graduating high school students who meet the criteria. Applications are due no later than March 8th to Ms. Dobert.
