Curtis Lumber joined our 4th-grade classes earlier this month to build their very own tool boxes to take home! Our students and teachers love this activity, and the students did an amazing job! There was a lot of independence, problem-solving and hard work that went on. Some of Mr. Drew's high school 'Intro to Woodworking' students joined as well, to lend a helping hand. Thank you to the Curtis Lumber employees and our HFCS teachers and staff who helped make this project possible!

🦖Last week, second graders had their annual Dinosaur Museum Day! Students chose a dinosaur to research, made a report in school, and then continued the learning at home and created a presentation. Elementary students from the other grades had the chance to come through the "Museum" and hear from the students about their projects, and then friends and families got to join in the fun, too. Great job to the second-grade team, and thanks for sharing your photos! Dino Day is always a roaring success!🦕(To see all the pictures, head on over to our Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/HoosickFallsCentral/)

Does your student ride the school bus? Please take notice: Road construction will be taking place in a few areas across the District in the coming weeks. Our school buses may be slightly delayed, depending on the construction location. Please be aware that your child(ren) may arrive home a little later than normal in the coming weeks. We will notify parents/guardians if a major delay takes place. Thank you!

HFCS is sending a huge “Thank you!” to Battenkill Valley Health Center for their generous donation of dental health supplies for our UPK-8 student! Here are some details about their program:
BVHC serves 4,000 patients from 120 towns - 23 of which are in NY.
There is a shortage of dental providers. To help those without access to care or even limited access, we are arming our youngest residents with the tools they need to have healthy mouths.
Working with our youngest residents, it is our hope that we can cultivate a lifelong commitment to oral health.
We are committed to supporting our local schools in their efforts to make oral health a priority.
Our outreach and education program is sponsored in part by Northeast Delta Dental Foundation and Stewart's Shops Holiday Match Program.
Jim Martinez has been on the board of directors since 2021 and facilitated the relationship between BVHC and HFCSD.

The Philip Leonard Chapter of the National Honor Society would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in their annual pickleball tournament! They are especially grateful to Penny Acree for her help in organizing the event, and to the Hoosick Armory for generously providing the space to host it. Thanks to their support, this tournament helped raise funds for the NHS community service project, Christmas Wish. Through this program, NHS is able to provide winter clothing and hygiene products to more than 120 students across over 40 families in our local community. The NHS truly appreciates the continued support!!
