The Wildcats Outdoor Track team competed at Broadalbin-Perth High School for the Section 2 Group 3 Championship meet. Overall, both the girls and boys teams finished 4th out of 13 teams. Several athletes had outstanding performances resulting in Sectional Awards & Patches and new school records. (Thank you to Lakes Edge Photography & Design for sharing these wonderful pictures!)
Top Place Finishers:
Jack Roseberger - Sectional Champion in the 200m & 400m dash (new school record of 50.27).
Michael Plusch - Sectional Champion in the Pole Vault (with a vault of 13-0).
Sarah Raymond - 3rd in the 1500m and 2000M Steeplechase and 4th in the 3000m.
Caroline Murphy - 3rd in the High Jump.
Abby Ackner - 3rd in the Long Jump.
Richie Stifter Jr. - 4th in the Triple Jump and 5th in Long Jump.
Sadie Cornell - 4th in the Triple Jump.
Ella Dickinson - 4th in the High Jump.
Emma Waugh - 4th in the 400m.
Ava Salvesvold - 4th in the 400m hurdles.
Jacob Price - 5th in the 110 Hurdles.
Evie Schutting - 5th in the Steeplechase.
Carson Glover - 6th in the 100 and 200m
Lailie Frierson - 6th in the 400m.
The girls 4x400m relay were Sectional Champions - Abby Ackner, Ava Salvesvold, Emme Fitzgerald, and Lailie Frierson with a time of 4:21.95.
The boys 4x100m were Sectional Champions - Rich Stifter Jr., Carson Glover, Michael Plusch, and Jack Roseberger with a new school record time of 44.28.
The boys 4x400m took 2nd overall Jake Gardy, Sam Clinton, Anthony Garner, and Jack Roseberger with a new school record time of 3:34.21.
This was an incredible way for the team to finish the season with several personal records and school records falling. Several Athletes will be moving forward to the State Qualifiers this upcoming week as they look to punch their ticket to the New York State Championships. This has been one incredible season for our Wildcats. We look forward to seeing the next chapter. Sending a very big congratulations to all who competed this Season !!!
