Recently, our School Resource Officer (SRO), Deputy Garhartt, visited second-grade classrooms for an important presentation. Deputy Garhartt spoke with students about what a property’s '911 Address' is, and why it is so important for emergency responders to be able to locate you during an emergency. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, to think about why they should memorize their own addresses, and who it would be safe to share an address with. Deputy then handed out practice sheets so that the students could learn the parts of their own addresses, and practice writing them out to work towards memorizing them. The students are always excited to have a visit from our SRO, and this exercise was a prime example of how Deputy Garhartt collaborates with our teachers and staff to help spread important safety messages to our students. Thank you, Deputy Garhartt, for caring about our students and helping keep them safe!🚓🐾
