Last week, Teachers Mr. Chris Nelson, Ms. Kaylah Gulley, and Ms. Coral Eriksen took 7th and 8th-grade students on an inspiring and engaging field trip with Girls Inc. Students were able to connect with female leaders across a variety of STEAM fields. They started the day with a keynote speaker, Girls Inc. Woman of the Year, Carrie Harring, who talked about her job, being a women in STEAM, and how she got to where she is today. Then they moved on to the Hoosick Armory, where students participated in hands-on activities, collaborated with peers, networked with mentors from a variety of STEAM fields, and gained insight into future career pathways. The experience empowered students to see themselves in these roles, ask meaningful questions, and build confidence in their own abilities. It was a powerful opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired by women making an impact in STEAM. Our teachers would like to give a huge thank you to Girls Inc. for providing this opportunity for our students and to all the mentors who came out to talk with our students! Thanks for sharing , Mr. Nelson, Ms. Gulley, and Ms. Eriksen! @girlsincgcr
