Elementary teacher Mrs. Cross has some exciting news to share with everyone. Her students have been going on “community integration field trips” to explore some of the community helper roles they have been learning about in the classroom. On their first trip, they visited a barber shop where the kids got to wait their turn, sit in a chair, wear the cape, and get their hair combed. Next they walked to the post office where each student purchased their own stamp, and mailed themselves a self portrait! On their second trip they visited the Hoosick Falls Library, where they got to explore the children's room. They played with toys, read books, and went home with a bookmark with the library hours on it so they could return with their families! They have a few more trips to look forward to before the year is over. Thanks for sharing, Mrs. Cross!
