Living History Summer Institute Students Tour Johnson Hall State Historic Site

Our Living History Summer Institute students recently toured Johnson Hall State Historic Site, where they stepped back in time to explore the house as “A World Turned Upside Down” following the Patriot raid on the estate.

Students learned about the lives of the enslaved community on the estate and how historians use primary sources to interpret information about various people who were enslaved at the estate.

The day wrapped up with a little fun — a game of ball and trap!
