The Hoosick Falls Lighted Christmas Parade is tonight! Line Up is at 5:30, the Tree Lighting is at 5:50, and the Parade kicks off at 6 PM! The parade will start at Wood Park and will head north on Main St., John St, Church St, and back down Main St. to Wood Park. The parade consists of tractors, floats, golf carts, SXSs, firetrucks, police cars, rescue squad, commercial equipment vehicles, walkers, and more. A group of HFCS Living History Summer Institute participants got together to continue a historic Hoosick Falls tradition! The students decorated the Post Office and set up Santa’s mailbox! 🎅🏻This magical mailbox allows children to send letters directly to the North Pole. Children who leave a letter in the mailbox will receive a personalized reply from an elf! 🎄(Thanks for sharing, Mrs. Katie Brownell!)

SUNY campus experts across the state will be hosting this in-person event on December 6th. They will be answering students' questions and providing assistance regarding the financial aid application, types of aid available, and the award process.
This event is free and open to all New Yorkers, regardless of whether they applied to a SUNY or the campus hosting the event.
Our Key Club's Toy Drive is getting close to wrapping up for the season, and we still have so many mittens left to be filled!! Can you help make the holiday special for a family in our community? Please stop by one of the local businesses with a tree with mittens, if you can help. If you currently have a mitten or haven't had the chance to get one but are planning on it, please do so soon, as we will be collecting the leftover mittens this Friday (12/5) so we can shop. We are hoping to collect all the toys Friday, 12/12. (At the absolute latest Monday, 12/15. Thank you to everyone who has helped in so many ways! (fundraising, mittens, sponsorships, donations, etc.)

These are no-cost pre-apprenticeship programs designed to prepare participants for careers in advanced manufacturing and entry into apprenticeship or entry-level roles. Apply Now - January 2026 Cohort: Applications are now open for the 518 Game Changers January 2026 Cohort! "This FREE program gives students ages 13–17 the chance to explore tech, gaming, and creative industries while earning certifications, building real-world skills, and connecting with industry professionals. With language access, mentorship, and hands-on learning, we’re helping the next generation turn passion into purpose... application (must) be completed together with a parent or guardian. Spots are limited." This cohort will be in person at VDO Gaming & Esports Education Center located in Menands, NY. Their address: 100 Broadway Suite 6, Menands, NY Commitments are Tuesday's & Thursday's 4pm-6pm starting January 13th for 6 weeks. Students leave with a game development certification, 1:1 mentorship and introduction to the tech industry, and career/certificate maps for continued interests. Hoosick Falls Central School District will be closed on Tuesday, December 2, due to a winter storm.
All after-school activities are cancelled, too. Please do not park in the school parking lot, to allow for plowing. The lunch meal scheduled for Tuesday will be served on Wednesday. The lunch for Wednesday will not be served this week.

There will be a Zoom meeting on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 7 pm, to learn how to create a parent/guardian account in the new OTUS system. Having your own OTUS account will allow you to access your child's standards-based grades, progress reports, and other important academic information throughout the school year.
Please refer to the sheet you will receive in the mail, for instructions on how to create a parent/guardian account, as well as the Student Code you will need to complete this process. We hope you can join us as we continue to improve communication about your child's academic progress. If you have any questions before the meeting, please don't hesitate to reach out.

The middle school continues to have a lot of fun with the House System assemblies and challenges. The last house challenge involved a high-energy game of dodgeball, and the previous challenge had a few different timed games where students had to work both independently and as a team. Congratulations to the middle school's October Students of the Month, for the Panther PRIDE character trait of Respect: (5th grade) Yohari Perez, Baine Webb, and Charlotte Battles. (6th grade) Nora Foy, Sebastian Giagiari, Juliette Brownell, and Carter Austin. (7th grade) Taylor Marcoux, Aurora Lundberg, Colton Springer, and Henley Lewis. (8th grade) Cole DeLuca, Scarlet Ellis, Callen Aubin, Joshua Billera, and Aidyn Susenbach. The Teacher of the Month was Mr. Farley. Middle School students also had the chance to earn a Halloween duckie from their teacher - not for casting spells or brewing potions, but for something even more magical: being a marvelous, well-behaved human!!
