Our School Resource Officer, Deputy Garhartt, organized a fun ornament-making activity for both the kindergarten classes and the second-grade students before break. Deputy provided Eddie-approved dog bone and paw print ornaments and gingerbread people, too. Students enjoyed decorating them and were excited to have some gifts to bring home for friends and family. Thanks for showing our students you care, Deputy!

Our first-grade team held a family event last week, where friends and family could join their student for a fun holiday house-building activity. Students liked using Rice Krispies Treats to build with. We're told they have superior sugar-sticking power compared to using graham crackers, which means less frustration and more tasty fun!

🎶The Senior Chorus performed at the annual Kiwanis Club Holiday Luncheon this past Monday, at the First Baptist Church Hall in Hoosick Falls. Their songs included popular favorites such as Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow, Home for the Holidays, and Silver Bells, as well as more soulful pieces such as O Holy Night, Eight Lights for Hanukkah, and A La Nanita Nana led by Dr. Yudkoff with accompanists Ben April (piano) and Martha Von Schilgen (strings). Students received high praise for their performance by many members of the community. This was followed by a wonderful lunch prepared by members of the Kiwanis Club. 🎶

Before Thanksgiving break, HFCS made a few donations to the local food pantry at HACA (Hoosick Area Church Association). The elementary school hosted a hat day where students and staff could donate $1 to HACA and wear a hat. They raised $480! The Art Club also held a food and toiletries drive and collected a lot of great items. The middle school had a house challenge to see which house could collect more food items to donate, and they filled a trunk! Great job to our students and staff, and to the families who help donate and encourage our students to spread generosity and think about our community. 💙🐾
