The heating issues at Hoosick Falls Central School District have been completely resolved. The school will reopen on Monday, February 23. Thank you for working with us through the difficulties over the past week.
If your student borrowed a Chromebook while we were remote, please return it at your earliest convenience this week. We’d like to have them back in the classrooms and ready for use by Monday morning.

Hoosick Falls CSD pivots to virtual learning from 2/11/2026 through 2/13/2026
Overnight on Sunday, a problem in our heating system caused some pipes in certain rooms in the building to freeze quickly due to extremely cold temperatures. This has forced the school to pivot to virtual learning from Wednesday, February 10, through Friday, February 12, while repairs are made. The district's focus is on educating and feeding students over the next three days. While virtual, meals will be delivered to families' homes.
We would like to thank the families and the community for their support. We will continue to update families on the status of the building. Parents/Guardians can contact their child’s school with any questions.
The JV/V spring sports sign-ups started on 2/9/26. Modified sign-ups start on 2/16/26. Please sign up for Spring sports on Family ID.
The student-athlete must have an updated physical dated no earlier than March 2025. If they have not had a physical in the past calendar year, they will need one before they can practice or participate. Schedule your appointment now.
The school doctor will be in for a limited time on 2/26/26 and 03/12/26. If you would like a physical completed by the school doctor, email the high school nurse (Jane Conte) a consent letter or note: contej@hoosickfallscsd.org.
If they have had a physical in the past 11 months (since March 2025), please have the doctor’s office fax it to the nurse at 518-686-7371.

Our Varsity Boys Wrestling Team captured Class C (II) wrestling championship this past weekend at Corinth!!! This event earns a sectional plaque for the school! Thanks for sharing Coach Nelson and congratulations to our athletes, lised below!

High School Business Teacher, Ms. Hamilton, has some news to share from her Personal Finance classes! On Tuesday, Feb. 3rd and Wednesday, Feb. 4th, Morgan Keith, Branch Operations/Community Relations Specialist from TCT Federal Credit Union, came to HFCS to present to the Personal Finance classes. Some of the topics covered included: Banks vs Credit Unions, financial services offered, building credit, and avoiding fraud. Students were provided with presentations, handouts, and some swag! It's always great to have community partners come for a visit!

Eighth-grade Math Teacher, Mr. Weeden, has some exciting news to share! Seven middle school students, Cruz LaBrie, Emmitt Willbrant, Riley Scott, Brennon Maddex, Russell Stifter, Grant Glover, and James Friel, recently earned 2026 Six Flags Season Passes!! These students earned their passes by getting a 4 on the 8th-grade state exam or by being the 'Most Improved' from 7th grade to 8th grade on the NYS exam!
